What Makes Us Different?

Why can we provide services that other Physical Therapy Clinics Cannot?

Here at Thrive Aging and Wellness, we are a an out-of-network provider for all insurances, except medicare, meaning, we do not bill your private insurance company for our services, nor do we accept insurance for our services. This allows us to provide the highest quality care that we know is medically necessary to help you heal as quickly and comfortably as possible.

We at Thrive Aging and Wellness believe that medicine should be left to the doctors, and not to the insurance companies! When we take the insurance companies out of the equation, we are able to focus on you and your needs, rather than on what an insurance provider is willing to pay for.

Sometimes, what is most medically necessary is a treatment that insurances are unwilling to pay for, or they want practitioners to try less expensive treatments first to see if they work. On the other hand, some clinics will provide services that are reimbursed by insurances at a higher rate because it makes them more money, rather than focusing on only doing what the patient needs. At Thrive Aging and Wellness we request the same up-front cost for all treatments, and you get to experience what Physical Therapy is supposed to be when therapists are free to treat based on their education and experience rather than worrying about reimbursement!

Will My Insurance Reimburse Me for Treatments Provided by Thrive Aging and Wellness?

Thrive Aging and Wellness does work with Medicare so as to be able to help to older adults who qualify for Medicare covered services. For those not covered by Medicare, Thrive is able to provide what we call a ‘Superbill’ which you may choose to submit to your insurance company. Your insurance may then reimburse you for any services we provided that they cover. Thrive Aging and Wellness does not guarantee that all services will be reimbursed by your insurance, but we will do our best to assist the process!

Why do people pay for our services out of pocket when they could go to a clinic that is covered by their insurance?

  • They have tried an in network PT clinic and did not improve

  • They know that their story and situation requires more personal care

  • They are looking for compassionate healthcare where someone has the time to listen and help them, and cares if they get better

  • They are looking for a therapist that treats them with a ‘whole person’ approach rather than just treating an injury

Working as a private pay company allows us to provide services that are not typically covered by insurance, including wellness treatments and injury prevention. Maybe you are preparing to have a baby and would benefit from pelvic floor ‘prehab’, or you are planning to get your knee replaced in a month and want to get as physically fit as you can in order to make the recovery process easier, or maybe you experienced a stroke months ago, and your insurance company stopped covering visits – this is where we come in to help!

Do you want to get back to out on the golf course for the first time since having a knee replacement? Are you a weight lifter with a trans-tibial amputation? Are you fearful of having to go grocery shopping by yourself because you are not sure if you have enough strength and endurance? Thrive Aging and Wellness is uniquely positioned to assist with any of these services!

No Surprise Billing!

We will always provide a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

We will always be transparent about our charges, and because we do not bill your insurance, we will always provide an estimate of the bill for all services provided prior to the start of treatment.

The Good Faith Estimate will cover the total expected cost of any non-emergency items and services. This includes costs related to appointments and equipment.

As per required law, all Estimates will be provided at least 1 business day prior to service being provided, and you may always ask for an estimate prior to scheduling your service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your estimate, you can dispute the bill.

For questions or more information about your right to Good Faith Estimates as per CMS guidelines, please visit http://www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call Thrive Aging and Wellness at 216-570-4027.
